Thanks from all of us who have been burned for showing we can still follow our dreams

I was burned over 50% of my body when I was 2 years old. I have grown up with my scars and know how hard it can be for others to see themselves one way today and a total other way tomorrow. I used to counsel soldiers(who were burned) in the military hospital wherre I had all my surgeries(my dad was in the AF). I tried to help them cope with their burns and how life did not end the day they were burned. I am not happy what happened to me did, but I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and the fact that it has made me a much stronger and compassionate person. I want to thank JR for his bravery in serving our country, but also his bravery in following his dreams and showing the world that just because we look different, we are still people and deserve the chance to be all we can be too. I have been watching AMC since I was a little girl, not much else to do during all those long stays in the hospital having plastic surgery several times a year. I have been a loyal fan of AMC all these years. (I am almost 49 now, so I have been watching a long time). This character has been an inspiration to me as well as many others I am sure. I have been treated badly and unfairly alot in my life due to my burn scars, but I have never let anyone steal my joy.(except an occasional boy whom I had a crush when he didnt want me cuz of my scars, but I carried on, cuz I figured I deserved better anyway..HAHA) Just remember true beauty does not radiate from the outside unless it is on the inside. JR you have brought alot of pride to those of us who are different in the eyes of others. I always wanted to act, but because of my looks I always assumed it was never possible. When I was in school, I was always in the drama club, because I love theatre, movies etc.....but they never let me act because of my appearance, I was always behind the scenes as a makeup or costume girl. You have set the standard for us....and it also proves maybe society is changing a bit more of acceptance of difference. I applaud AMC for their gutsy move to create your character and to have an actual burn victim play the part. I applaud you for not hiding yourself and showing the world what a wonderful actor you are and that just because you dont look like you did most of your adult life, you are still an incredible human being. Keep up the fnatastic work, and NEVER LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR JOY!!!!!
